West Gables Healthcare Center – This new ground-up construction brings a high-end, tropical-inspired senior living experience to sunny Miami. Spanning five floors, the facility includes subacute, long-term, and memory care units, thoughtfully designed to prioritize both comfort and sophistication.
Design Vision &
Project Overview
Inspired by the surrounding sun-soaked neighborhoods and lush greenery, the interiors feature a light and airy palette of soft greens, cool-toned woods, and pops of orange and yellow, accented with gold hardware for a refined touch. The overall vibe balances coastal elegance with a welcoming, resort-like atmosphere tailored to the Miami lifestyle.
As the facility is situated in Miami, this five-story senior living facility was designed to reflect the area’s tropical charm and relaxed sophistication. As a large-scale building with expansive common areas, the project offered ample opportunity to explore thoughtful, layered design. The result is a refined, coastal atmosphere that feels distinctly Miami—bright, vibrant, and built for comfort and connection.
Design Direction &
Deliverables
I contributed to the full design process—from initial moodboards and palette development to coordinating renderings, selecting finishes and furnishings, and assembling the client presentation. I created the full FFE schedule, collaborated on floor plans, RCPs, and finish plans with the architectural team, and developed supporting materials like art and signage packages. For the memory care unit, I designed a custom mural to replicate a storefront, creating a familiar and engaging visual cue to support residents’ comfort and orientation.
